Vorskla Pulls Off an Upset Win over Karabakh. Congratulations!

Win of Vorskla (Poltava) in the match of Europa League over Karabakh (Azerbaijan) has become sensation. This is the first ever victory of Vorskla FC in Europa League round, moreover this wasn’t victory gained in home match. We congratulate our partners and our favorite Vorskla Football Club!

114 fans: residents of Poltava, Kremenchug and Kiev of different status and jobs and football team have been carried by charter Boeing-737 to Baku airport and the flight has been fast and comfortable. This trip has been organized by People’s Deputy and Honorary President of Vorskla FC Konstantin Zhevago, President of Club General Director Roman Chernyak and FC Vice-President Gennadiy Muzyka. Credit for transfer, accommodation in ritzy hotel and tickets for all the delegation goes to them.

Before the match Baku journalists were not shy about superiority: “With all my great respect to Vorskla team, Karabakh will surely win”. Senior coach Vasiliy Sachko said in a temperate manner: “Karabakh is worthy and technically skilled adversary, the game will not be easy. But we did not come for fun here. Notwithstanding that some players are out because of injuries, we will do our utmost to win.”

And Vorskla has won! At the beginning of the second half Vladislav Kulach scored a goal that turned out to be game winner. Support of few fans that came to this game and representatives of diplomatic corps of Ukraine obviously conveyed to Poltava team. “Your support is necessary and important for us”, - said Vasiliy Sachko in Poltava airport.

“I am proud with the team, Poltava region and Ukraine because we scored points for us and very important points for Ukraine in future tournaments because it is important for classification, - said Mr.Zhevago after the game. We are proud that Vorskla is winner!

Games of UEFA Europa League in Butkovskiy stadium are yet to come: November 8 Vorskla - Karabakh (Agdam) – tickets are now available and November 29 Vorskla – Arsenal (London).
