The event was held October 17 at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University Poltava Law Institute. Attendees were foreign and domestic businessmen, agrarians, government, ministries and department officials, central and local public authorities, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, economic alliances and institutes, national and international financial organizations, etc. General Director Roman Chernyak present at the forum made a report at section meeting Industry of Poltava Region: Investment Prospects and Export Potential. According to him, top priorities of the automobile plant include addition of new models to the company’s lineup, improvement of trucks performance and quality with respect to emission standards, development of unrivaled special vehicles. However, the company needs financial support to fund innovations because of their high cost and lack of working capital. Efforts should be taken to attract domestic researchers to create national technologies in the automotive industry, to ensure close cooperation of Ukrainian research institutions and automakers for creation of new materials and technologies. He told about problems the company faces and actions required for significant increase in production and sales of KrAZ and other domestic companies, thus enabling to increase revenues to the treasury. Support for domestic manufacturers would make it possible to move to a new level of development of the automotive industry, having a meaningful effect dealing with economic, social, environmental, technical and scientific problems, acting not only as large employer but also major customer for products of other industries.
“AutoKrAZ” has displayed its state-of-the-art vehicles at the exhibition held as part of the forum. The event has been fruitful, Poltava region has been presented to investors in favorable light. We are sure such events will help attract investments and develop economic cooperation to the advantage of both the country and the companies.
