Product quality improvement is a vital task for “AutoKrAZ”. Currently the company extensively utilizes in construction of its vehicles non-OEM parts and units made by manufacturers having a good business reputation. Today the company’s Test Centre tests a new steering made by Нema Endustri A. S. (Turkey). This company, a part of HATTAT Holding, is the biggest manufacturer of cars and commercial vehicles in Turkey and region.  Its production capacities amount to over 1m of steering boxes certified under TS16949, Ford Q1, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Its products are supplied to such world’s automakers as Ford, Fiat, Renault, etc.

Turkish steering boxes are mounted on cabover trucks and mass produced all-terrain conventional vehicles. The HD098C55513 steering gear is mounted on conventional trucks while the HD098C55511 steering box is mounted on cabovers.

Steering wheel control effort is measured in compliance with Test Program made in accordance with UNECE R No 79.

Currently KrAZ trucks are provided with steering boxes made by Byelorussian company. The decision to switch to new steering gear has been triggered by failure claims submitted by buyers.

It should be noted that KrAZ utilizes in assembly of its vehicles aftermarket parts made by the companies specializing in their production following world auto industry practice. But considering the fact that the buyer receives finished product, KrAZ truck, directly from Kremenchug Automobile Plant, the company alone bears responsibility for the product to the full extent and honors its warranty obligations. Despite the fact that 83 percent of claims submitted to the company concern defective aftermarket parts and units KrAZ alone faces criticism over its products. To improve quality of its vehicles the company has tightened acceptance test for products supplied to “AutoKrAZ” and opts out suppliers, which deliver defective products and refuse to improve quality.
