Next step of KrAZ in implementation of scientific achievements in production was cooperation between the automobile plant and National Scientific Centre “Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Electrification”. National Academy of Agrarian Sciences Central Institute for Development of Mechanized Technologies and Machinery for agrarian business and national manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles have entered into cooperation agreement. Decision on cooperation was taken to create national competitive agricultural machinery based on chassis of national vehicle KrAZ. New machinery is supposed to be used in various applications: organic and mineral fertilization, soil preparation, seeding, crop protection by implementation of advanced methods, etc.
Since Ukraine is a leading agricultural country such a consolidation of production and science will be useful for development of agrarian sector of the country before everything else. Record harvests of major crops such as cereals, corn and sunflower are impossible without powerful machinery for seeding, harvesting and processing.
“AutoKrAZ” has recently started to produce vehicles for use by agrarians. These were mainly vehicles for carting beetroot and cereals based on chassis of mass-produced conventional vehicles. Adding cabovers available in 4х2, 4х4, 6х4, 6х6 and 8х4 axle configurations to the lineup, better payload capacity and comfort level made it possible to build various special vehicles based on KrAZ chassis for various sectors of national economy including agrarian business. The first vehicle in this lineup for agrarians was the KrAZ-6511С4 grain carrier capable to carry up to 75 cu.m. KrAZ intends to expand its lineup intended for use by agrarians now by implementing scientific achievements.
According to scientists and agrarians vehicle designed for use in agriculture should have strong and reliable units and systems like KrAZ trucks. All new vehicles to be created in cooperation with scientists and manufacturers, according to them, will be widely used in agribusiness of Ukraine and will help do it more profitable and efficient.
