Only powerful vehicles can help cope with bad weather conditions, avoid accidents, casualties and other adverse impacts. Nasty winters in recent years with heavy snowfalls, snowstorms and icy roads have been a good example of capabilities of KrAZ road maintenance vehicles. KrAZ trucks are in their element on rugged terrains and under extreme environmental conditions. These are conditions under which potential of Kremenchug special vehicles is realized to the full extent. This winter showed that quantity of efficient vehicles in the fleets of municipal and roads services is not sufficient. And this despite the fact that there is a national manufacturer in Ukraine, Kremenchug Automobile Plant, which has all the capabilities: production facilities, skilled staff and mass production of special and road maintenance vehicles. Only due to powerful KrAZ vehicles municipal and roads services could cope with month’s worth of snow that fell in Ukrainian cities and towns in just some hours in January. 22.01.2016 In Beloziorsk district members of special rescue team use KrAZ truck to tow over rugged terrains vehicle-mounted aerial platforms of OJSC “Khersonoblenergo”.
Rovno region: rescuers towed the truck, which blocked the roadway
January 25, 19:45 – MAN truck blocked the way at 150 km of motorway Ustilug – Lutsk – Rovno near the village of Bronniki resulting in traffic jam with rows of trucks, cars and shuttle buses. To resolve this issue rescue team came to the scene and provided response to this emergency situation using the KrAZ-255B truck with towing rope just in ten minutes.
Lvov region: State Service for Emergency Situations Quick Response Rescue Centre 2 provided help to truck driver
January 18, 13:50 Rescue Service "101" received a call about MAN truck that fails to climb up Drogobych Street in the town of Stebnik. The rescuers arrived on the scene immediately after the call.
The task was complicated by cobblestone pavement.
Using the KrAZ truck rescuers could tow this vehicle to safe location.
Poltava region: rescuers helped drivers of three trucks
January 18, 9:55 Rescue Service "101" received a call about MAN, Volvo and DAF trucks that swerved off the road and fail to drive on Vokzalnaya Stree in the town of Khorol. The rescuers of emergency fire and rescue unit No 20 went to the scene.
After arrival they towed the trucks to safe location. To help these drivers, three rescuers used KrAZ truck in service with quick response rescue team.
Zhytomir region: rescuers helped twice to free vehicles from snow banks
January 17 - rescuers of State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine in Zhytomir region twice went to help vehicles stuck in snow trap.
At 13:00 Rescue Service "101" received a call about DAF truck that went into the ditch on the motorway Novograd-Volynskiy-Shepetovka near the village of Zvezda, town of Baranovka, its trailer blocked most of the roadway.
The rescuers of emergency fire and rescue unit No 15 went to the scene. To provide help they used the KrAZ truck in service with a local company. Joint efforts helped to release the vehicle from snow trap.
Today operators raise alarm: fleets must be provided with more efficient domestic vehicles. The need in such vehicles is thousands of units. That quantity of over 200 road maintenance vehicles delivered by “AutoKrAZ” to Ukravtodor during the pre-crisis period from 2006 to 2007 and some units supplied to municipal services are not sufficient to keep the cities, towns and roads in order. KrAZ does not stand still, up-to-date KrAZ trucks are more powerful, mobile and maneuverable due to bonnetless design.
