Would-Be Service Technicians and Welders Visit KrAZ Museum

13 December, 2017

Yesterday, in the afternoon, visitors from Poltava, prospective workers of machine-building industry came to the automobile plant. A large group of students Chepiga Higher Vocational School of Poltava visited “AutoKrAZ” to learn about the history and operation of Kremenchug Automobile Plant.

Two dozens of would-be service technicians and arc welders accompanied by master of vocational training listened with a keen interest to interesting facts about seventy years of the company’s history, examined exhibits, photos on stands and in albums. After the visit the youth thanked for warm welcome and expressed a wish to come again to the company to see production facilities and proving ground.

Such visitors are always welcome at the automobile plant. Today automotive industry suffers labor shortage, first of all shortage of blue-collar workers. Thus, “KrAZ” needs to fill 360 job openings, of which 300 are blue-collar vacancies. There is a severe shortage of tool makers, metal workers, millers, automated line technicians, operators of multiple types of equipment, welders, etc.

This year “AutoKrAZ” filed an order to vocational schools of the town for 87 employees, of which 72 are blue-collar workers and the rest are engineers. Unfortunately, this order has not been fulfilled and the company employed only 27 graduating students. The key reason is migration in search of better life abroad. The company still hopes that the situation in our country will improve and waits for young generation of action.

“KrAZ”offers steady job and regular salary, collegiate, possibility to grow, acquire another profession and upgrade skills. But the most important thing is that “KrAZ” provides possibility to gain experience, learn to be responsible and disciplined, get a backbone and many other things that will help in career growth and increase the cost of worker in the labor market.
