Closed governmental meeting concerning support of manufacturers of special trucks in Ukraine was held yesterday, January 23, by prime Minister of Ukraine Mr.Vladimir Groysman. People’s Deputy Mr.Konstantin Zhevago and General Director PJSC “AutoKrAZ” participated at this meeting along with First Vice-Minister, Minister for Economic Development and Commerce Mr.Kubiv, Vice-Minister V.Kistion, top officials of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the State Service for Emergency Situations, SJSC “Roads of Ukraine”.
During the meeting all those present could see presentation slides of the only complete cycle manufacturer of trucks “AutoKrAZ”. During the ensuing discussions it was noted that the company has sufficient human resources, production and technical potential to provide all the branches of Ukrainian economy with quality domestic vehicles. Moreover, to integrate many other companies of machine-building industry into manufacturing process, this will make it possible to place orders with them, increase budget contributions, and create new jobs. It was interesting to note that today “AutoKrAZ” employs over 5000 workers of KrAZ group and many thousand workers of over 200 suppliers of raw materials and components.
After viewing all those participating in the meeting discussed the demand for motor vehicles, major problems arising in operation, possible increase in output of necessary vehicles in Ukraine and local content. “We should create added value and new jobs in Ukraine. Given huge demand for vehicles I think that our machine-building industry can not stand apart. We should provide significant support for machine-building industry. I am not going to lobby a specific manufacturer, I want to lobby local content. Everything we purchase today using public funds for development of our country must be purchased in Ukraine to create jobs for Ukrainians “, - emphasized the Head of Government.
He told about necessity to change patter when Ukraine buys products from foreign companies while being a supplier of raw materials. Mr.Groysman also told about demand for municipal, military vehicles, railroad engines and cars for “Ykrzaliznytsya”.
According to Prime Minister UAH 250m will be used to purchase road maintenance vehicles for “Ukravtodor” 2017, UAH 600m to purchase rescue and fire fighting vehicles for SSES, UAH 500m to purchase farming equipment. “It is of outmost importance for us to set up a pool to make it possible for us to place orders with our companies. Local content is important for me “, - he said.
On completion of meeting the Prime Minister set a task to prepare a chart of demand for vehicles for government institutions, productive capacities and economic benefits in budget saving and job creation.
“Investing in domestic-made vehicles we donate the budget and reinvest into quality of living, -emphasized Mr.Groysman. – The well-being of the nation is my priority. I want people to have job, get salary and economy to develop”.
“AutoKrAZ” is hopeful for the future outlined by the government and hopes that the visit of the Head of Government and principled stance on support of machine-building industry will aid industry development, support of domestic manufacturer and economic development of the country.
