Late last week “AutoKrAZ” shipped to Lvov region another municipal vehicle built under contract won through bidding in 2016. Destination point is a town council of Brody that purchased new vehicle using regional budget ecological fund resources as part of joint ecological program of Brody and Lvov regional council.
Municipal service workers tested a new garbage truck on January 20, which is confirmed by statement of town council of Brody on their Facebookpage. Test driver who delivered the vehicle from Kremenchug Automobile Plant to destination point helped local personnel master operation of new vehicle.
The special vehicle is used for collecting solid domestic waste from standard containers, compacting, carrying and dumping at disposal site.
The special multi-purpose garbage truck is based on the KrAZ-5401Н2 chassis meeting Еuro-5 emission standard. It is a versatile cab chassis truck with ergonomic cab with maximum commonality and adaptation to various power plants and superstructures. Today it is one of the most popular chassis cab trucks with municipal services and machine building plants of Ukraine. The similar cab chassis have been used for conversion into sewage suction truck, vacuum street cleaner, garbage truck, snow plow truck and other vehicles including refrigerated truck. The KrAZ-5401Н2 chassis cab can be provided with over 30 superstructures with weight of up to 10 tonnes for use in urban cycle.
The KrAZ-5401Н2 chassis cab is very maneuverable vehicle with minimum turning radius of 8,5 m.
Special equipment mounted on KrAZ chassis has been made by “Viva” (Kremenchug). Hopper volume: 18 cu.m., capacity: about 6 tonnes of waste. Except garbage equipment the vehicle is provided with other equipment at customer’s request: snow plow with clearing width of 3 m and clamshell to eliminate illegal dumping with clamshell opening width of 1200 mm and volume of 0, 75 cu.m.
Town mayor Mr.Anatoliy Beley said that the last time GAZ garbage trucks made in Russia were purchased for Brody in 2007 and these vehicles are often out of service, for this reason, purchase of up-to-date domestic vehicles is justified on a wider and deeper scales: spare parts, fuel, resources from regional budget, etc. Purchase of garbage trucks made by domestic manufacturer, KrAZ plant, is one of items in town council ecological program for 2016 that was successfully carried out. He also told about plans to purchase another similar vehicle using regional budget resources in 2017.
Adding new advanced vehicle to its lineup “AutoKrAZ” plans to provide municipal and road maintenance companies, farms and agricultural companies with efficient light-duty special vehicles built by domestic manufacturer.
