The KrAZ-5401К2 truck provided with gas engine passed the next stage of braking performance certification tests for compliance with UN ECE Regulations 13.10. The tests have been conducted at the proving ground of Knorr-Bremse Research Institute in Budapest (Hungary).
It is to be recalled that the KrAZ-5401 4х2 cabover chassis provided with special equipment for municipal service was built in the middle of last year. It features the M906LAG high performance gas engine (Еuro 5) by Daimler rated at 280hp delivering very low fuel consumption, bigger lifespan and reduced emissions level. Immediately after the vehicle was built, it was brought in to various regions of Ukraine for field testing. After field tests it is time for certification tests that the gas-powered KrAZ truck passes in stages.
During tests for compliance with UN ECE Regulations, braking performance of this chassis cab has been checked very carefully. Tests were conducted on both unladen and laden with 12-tonne ballast vehicle.
During tests and trips to and from the vehicle did under its own power (total distance exceeds 4000 km) all the systems functioned as normal, no failures and system malfunctions occurred. Certification brake tests confirmed compliance with requirements, which is evidenced by Compliance Certificate.
Today the KrAZ-5401К2 gas-powered truck is being prepared for delivery to pass the final stage of certification tests, which will clear the way to the countries of European Union.
