Though veterans were honored on 9th of May, not too long ago, Kremenchug Automobile Plant organized another holiday for them. The meeting of former workers of machine assembly shop No 1 was held yesterday, May 16. They were glad to visit the plant at invitation of the company’s management and Council of Veterans. Such events for different subdivisions of “KrAZ” are tradition. Elderly employees of KrAZ feel care about them and get opportunity to see familiar faces and home grounds, recall young years of work.
This day the program was interesting and varied as usually. The visit started from the company’s history museum where veterans could see exhibits and were happy to find names of their former colleagues in the Book of Honor.
They also visited open-air museum of military vehicles in Park of Peace, on the Walk of Flame, watched children learning traffic code in the automobile town.
After returning to the plant, they went to the machine assembly shop where they could talk to today’s workers at places they used to work. The veterans praised high production standards, clean and tidy, vigorous activity in the shop.
The veterans watched motor show on the proving ground, applauded to skilled driver and powerful vehicle and made commemorative pictures. They were very glad to see KrAZ trucks in operation because in the period of their employment there was no proving ground and they could see finished products only on the country’s roads. At last they have got an opportunity to see strength and ruggedness of KrAZ truck.
In the Training Centre they visited up-to-date classrooms with simulators and watched film about KrAZ trucks and automobile plant.
Of course, there was lunch at the company’s canteen where the veterans discussed what they saw and shared their impressions and recollections, while having their meals. After all, former supervisor of machine assembly shop No 1 Roman Kukhta, which said that the plant is well-kept and clean, their stay in its territory was very pleasant and thanked for respect and warm welcome. Former Chairman of Trade Union Committee and State Administration of Avtozavodskiy district Vladimir Kovalenko thanked management team of “KrAZ” for hearty welcome, attention and care about former employees.
