“AutoKrAZ” Refurbishes OSCE KrAZ-Cougars

22 January, 2018

“AutoKrAZ” and OSCE mission in Ukraine continue their collaboration. This time “AutoKrAZ” started refurbishment works on a batch of the KrAZ-Cougar armored vehicles as it was agreed. These armored vehicles have belonged to representatives of OSCE special monitoring mission since late 2015.

KrAZ-Cougars are light armored vehicles that were among the first vehicles to be delivered to national guards and border troops in 2014, the first hard days of military conflict in the east of Ukraine. This version of the KrAZ-Cougar is provided with V6 gasoline-powered engine rated at 218hp, manual 5-speed transmission, and two fuel tanks of 90 l each with steel protection. Top speed is 105 km/h. They are adapted for use in local operating conditions to the full.  All bearing units are reinforced, rear suspension is reinforced spring unit, while front suspension is reinforced coil unit.

KrAZ-Cougars together with KrAZ-Spartans have been front line vehicles since the very first days of conflict in Donbass and often used as personnel carriers and other combat vehicles. They have saved lives of many Ukrainian army men: soldiers, officers, high command. Light armored vehicles refurbished and reworked by “KrAZ” will come back to the military for further service with the army of Ukraine.
