Each of them gave over 40 years to complicated but interesting work on designing Ukrainian truck. About 40 persons, managers and engineering employees of 60-80s, came to recall their years of work at “KrAZ”, to see how the plant changed, its new products and developments. This day the visit ran as usual in compliance with tried and true practice for visits of special guests.  But for those who returned to the plant though as visitors this day was unusual, exciting, interesting and rich in the events.

The visitors as usually gathered at office building No 2 and were pictured on its background. Plant bus carried the guests to the Park of Peace where they walked along the Walk of Fame, visited open air military museum. After returning to the plant the elderly guests recalled their stretch of work life looking at exhibits and stands in the museum of KrAZ history.

Then they visited research and development shop where elderly design engineers were checking out with interest new vehicles, violently discussed arising questions with current generation of designers, argued, agreed or disagreed. By tradition, they could see performance of KrAZ truck son the company’s proving ground: they applauded easy driving over obstacles, there were even those willing to drive over obstacles in the truck cab despite age. Before leaving the proving ground the visitors had a picture taken near military vehicle.

Another feature of visit program was Training Centre where the guests could see up-to-date classrooms with unique mock-up units and vehicle, interactive stands. They also could watch film about the plant there.

Finally the veterans had formal dinner where they went on communicating with songs with accordion. 

Nobody wanted to go away, the visitors thanked for warm welcome and opportunity to cast mind back into the days of youth, get a lungful of automobile plant air, enter into the spirit of the company’s current life. Such meetings held with the support of “AutoKrAZ” management are a big day for those who say that automobile plant is their life. Though age begins to tell, deep inside they are always with their plant and the plant remembers them, honors as best as it can, takes care of those who wrote its proud history.
